I just got verizon wireless from broadband, using a USB card about a week ago. It’s 60 dollars a month, but the first month is just a test-drive before you get knee-deep in a contract, although it’s still paid (unfortunately.) I never intended on keeping the service, as it is much too expensive- I used to pay 80 a month for an internet, cable, and phone bundle. Anyhow my problem is this, the plan I have is limited to 5 GB monthly, and being somewhat computer illiterate, I thought this was a lot. To my surprise, after having the service for only one week, we have almost used 4GB. I used to have chater cable internet and never remember having to worry about how many GB were used. I need unlimited access to the internet as I work online and use it for online schooling. I can’t get charter, as it is not available in Richmond VA. I do not care whether I have cable or dsl, the only thing I don’t want is dial-up. Someone please help! Before I run out of Giga!

What would be the best and easiest setup router to purchase ?Just got verizon dsl and only received a dinky model 6100f modem. because i want to connect my video games for online play.

I live in Trotwood OHio and I have been trying to get Yahoo, Verizon or ATAT DSL and all the companies say that they are not allowed to provide service in my area because a private company has ownership of that. How do I go about changing this …should I attend city hall …its a monopoly

On this month’s Verizon telephone/DSL bill, I noticed I had a charge for $13.60 from ILD Teleservices for voice mail, something I did not order. I did some research and I found out that this scam is called “cramming” in the phone industry and the only way I can get it off my bill is by contacting the company that’s adding these services (wtf). Now, with all due respect, I do intend on calling this company and being diplomatic with them, but judging from other consumer stories about this company, chances are they will say keep paying them and they’ll issue a refund for all the charges in a few months.
Personally, I think paying a company that’s scamming you in the 1st place is a bit stupid. I noticed on my phone bill, Verizon states “your telephone service will not be disconnected for failure to pay the charges on this portion of your bill.”
When I pay my bill, since the amount of all services is totaled up, how do I let verizon know I want to pay for all but the 1 fake “service”?

I have verizon DSL with modem westell 7500. Right now I have an ethernet connection, but it does have a green light and says wireless next to it. Do I need any other connection to access it. My computer is a laptop with wireless antenna built in. Any ideas?

I feel like I’m paying too much right now…
$80 for DSL and Local calling through Verizon
$77 for Directv with Choice Extra, HBO, 3 Recievers
$10-20 for AT&T Long Distance
I’m thinking of switching to the triple bundle for Verizon Fios and getting HD for the 3 recievers, any idea if it’ll be cheaper?

I’m considering the 3-service $100/month bundle with $150 cash back (one year contract requirment, $179 early termination fee). Any views on the ups and downs of FIOS are appreciated. Right now, we have rabbit ears and a converter box for the TV, and DSL on the computer. We also like having a land line, so we won’t give that up.
We’re in the MD suburbs of DC. That’s why I asked the question in this category.
Thanks!

I have spent several nights after work trying to self-install Verizon DSL. I currently have Optimun. (Their internet cost is going up.). I haven’t been able to self-install. I couldn’t find the fee on Verizon’s website. I am in NYC.
Thanks.

I live in Baltimore city and I want basic cable, I’m only going to be here for probably 6-7 month then i’m moving somewhere else for a while, so I don’t want a contract.
There are only a handful of channels I watch, ABC, ESPN, comedy central, discovery, and the other ones i dont really care.
What do you think is the best deal for me? I have Verizon DSL internet (so no comcast bundle =P )and do NOT own a HDTV. Any suggestions are welcome, I just don’t want to pay $50 a month for basic cable, and I rather not watch them on the internet either. Thanks =)

I have Earthlink DSL, Charter Cable and Verizon Landline. I am concerned about having 6 boxes, one for each TV. Does anyone use the Verizon TV? I am concerned about changing my email address also. Thanks
